Jessie Yang is currently a Master of Professional Science student at the Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric, and Earth Science, University of Miami.

Jessie received her Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Oceanography from University of Washington, Seattle in 2022. She did her senior thesis at Friday Harbor Laboratory, focusing on using the statistical models to examine various factors that affect the growth rate of Alaria Marginata, a brown algae appeared along the west coast. Her other previous researches include the prediction of microorganism variations in Puget Sound as a result of the climate change. She also applies her interests in machine learning and computational modeling to study the marine environment and ecosystems
